Seeds of a Fallen Empire

A. F. Spackman

Relaxing

Science Fiction3/30/2000 Rating: 4 Scrolls

The planets of Tiasenne and Meilarr are at war. The inhabitants of the neighboring planets are similar in genetics and speech, yet different races. Meilarr is a volanic, harsh planet. Tiasenne is larger and much more habitable. But its people do not want the Meilaarans to relocate on their planet.

Alessia is a mysterious woman hiding away on Tiasenne. She alone knows the full history of those two planets and the civilization from which they unknowingly sprung. Seynorynael, her original home, has explored much of the universe. She is trying to change her destiny and has settled on Tiasenne. She has promised to save the Meilarrans and to bring the planets' civilizations together.

The first few chapters of this book confuse the reader. Ms. Spackman is setting up a history that will continue beyond this book into more of the series. By the first third it has started to pull itself together and turns into a fascinating story. I had to keep with it, finding out what was really going on, what Alessia was doing, and how were the planets of Tiasenne and Meilarr going to survive? It is an e book, and shows some problems in polishing. It is still a good story.
