Callahan's Lady

Science Fiction10/28/1999 Rating: 4 1/2 Scrolls

Meet Lady Sally, Mike Callahan's wife. She runs a bordello in Brooklyn. But like Mike's Crosstime Saloon is not your normal bar with your everyday clientelle, Lady Sally's is not your normal bordello with your everyday clientelle. The employees are artists in their profession.

Maureen wakes up at Lady Sally's after she is knifed by her pimp. Although she had always disdained houses in the past, she quickly learns that Lady Sally's is different. She quickly revises her opinions and wants to stay.

What do you mean, this doesn't sound like science fiction or fantasy? The first person Maureen sees from Lady Sally's is actually a werebeagle. Then there is the scientist trying to regenerate nerve tissue with interesting results. Or the physicist who learns how to control other people. Or... Well, you can get the idea. That, of course, is not to mention what Lady Sally herself can do.

This is another fun book from the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series. Be aware it does take place in a bordello. Although this is humorous and merry, don't read it if you will be offended. It is not explicit or pornographic, but the sexual situations are constant. Although I tend to be conservative, I had to keep smiling as I read this. I enjoyed it the whole time.
