Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsJ.K. Rowling
After his first year at Hogwarts School, Harry Potter had to return to the Dursleys' home for the summer. It was dreadful. He could not wait to get back to school. As he is gratefully packing for his return, a strange impish visitor shows up. Harry is warned that there is disaster ahead if he returns to school. He returns anyway. Nothing could be worse than staying with the Dursleys. Or can it? From the beginning when he missed his train Harry has problems. To make it worse, he has dragged in his friend Ron Weasley and his family into the misfortunes. A famous teacher is at Hogwarts this year. New ghosts are appearing. Children are turning into stone. The teacher keeps bothering Harry. The new ghosts are mystifying. And Harry is a suspect of the stone children, especially by his nemesis, Draco Malfoy. This a the worthy second novel in the Harry Potter series. It is as much fun as the first, and will be enjoyed by children and adults alike. The Dursleys are a family we love to hate. Harry is a fairly normal kid with extraordinary talents. Hogwarts is a school most people would love to have attended during their school years. This book is light and fun. Relax and enjoy.
