Twin of FireJude Deveraux
Blair Chandler returned home from medical school for her twin sister Houston's wedding. In the 1890's women did not often go to medical school; Blair was the exception to the rule. Chandler, Colorado, was not a place for a female doctor. Houston and Blair switched places on one of Houston and Lee's date. Lee liked the new Houston, not realizing he was at the dance with Blair. Within a couple weeks Houston and Blair were in a double wedding. Blair found herself marrying Lee, the town doctor, and Houston married the local millionaire. Blaire felt guilty for Houston, yet was happy for herself. Blair tries to start a new marriage and a new practice. Lee is very supportive, when he is home. The people in Chandler are not acceptive of a female caring for them. Lee is often away on some sort of secret mission. Blair keeps trying to find out but cannot. How can she trust him? Her heart knows she loves him, yet her mind is reluctant. This is a pleasing tale. Houston's story was told first in Twin of Ice. We had to have Blair's story. We knew from the first novel that Blair married Lee. Now we know why. Notice: Somewhat explicit sexual situations |
