Twice KissedLisa Jackson
Maggie Macrae receives an unusual plea for help from her twin sister. The Marquise' ex-husband appears on Maggie's door step. Marquise has disappeared. She has not appeared at the television studio where she works, her current boyfriend has not seen her, and her business manager has not received any messages. Thane Walker convinces Maggie to come to Denver to be his character witness . She sends her 13-year-old daughter Becca to stay with her sister-in-law while she accompanies Thane to Denver. She also decides to try to find Marquise herself. But can she work with Thane? She had been in love with him before he married Marquise. Can she resist his attraction now? This is an enjoyble romance/mystery combination. While the romance (no surprise) is fairly predictable, the mystery in Twice Kissed keeps the reader involved. The romance portion of the novel has its unexpected twists as well. This one held my interest, making me wonder why I had left it on my "to be read" pile (Mt. Bookpile) for so long.
