A Tryst in TimeEugenia Riley
Sarah Jennings has unexpectedly inherited property in Louisiana. That gives her a chance to escape Atlanta the memories of Brian. Her brother had died within the last year in the Viet Nam Conflict. She was recovering from a breakdown at the news. She comes to her new home and is charmed. She finds herself fascinated with the history of the old plantation, now standing empty. It is reputed to be haunted. Indeed, she often sees an old woman in the distance or a sad man in the house. Something draws her to the house. While meditating, she finds herself in the house almost one hundred years earlier. Somehow she has travelled through time. She meets Damien, the brooding man she had seen. He also had lost a brother during the war - the War Between the States. He could not come to terms with the death. Sarah and Damien seem to be drawn together through their grief. Are they the ones who can heal each other? How do they handle the gulf of time that could separate them again? I have a soft spot for time travel romances. When I found this in a box of unread books, I was tickled to find it. It did not live up to my hopes. It is not a bad book, but not that good, either. I read it quickly. The only reason I didn't put it down was because I was flying across country and it filled the time on the plane. I had read most of the other books I had in my carryon luggage. I don't recommend buying this new, but it is all right if you find it on a used book table. You can find excerpts from this book at Notice: Somewhat explicit sexual situations |
