Time Enough for LoveSuzanne Brockmann
Time travel and romance. Those are always fun for me to read. It must be part of my love of science fiction and a good love story. Often time travel tries to avoid the paradoxes of going into one's own past. This one attacks the idea head on. Chuck goes back seven years in time to meet Maggie once again. He wants Maggie to convince his younger self not to invent a time machine. He left his time after escaping the terrorists who funded his project. He watched Maggie die in his arms saving his life. He intends to avoid that future. Maggie looks out her back door to see a bloody, mud spattered naked man in her back yard. What is he doing here? Why does he seem to know her? He convinces her he is not a mad man. Maggie has not met Charles in the past yet. This younger Charles is obsessed with time travel. He has been working on the theory since he was seven years old. Chuck has to convince Maggie to change the younger Charles' dreams. He cannot allow the future he lived through to happen again. The paradoxes...will the future Chuck meet the current Charles? What happens if the current Charles is convinced? Maggie falls in love with the future Chuck, something that did not happen in the past. What about the terrorist group? Can they track Chuck to the past? This is an enjoyable, fun book. The paradoxes and memory problems are well handled. Since this was a Loveswept romance, it is an easy read.
