Over the last few months Sarah Dearly's life has completely. First she was on a blind date and turned into a vampire. Then she saved another vampire's life and fell in love with him. Theirry is over 600 years old and married - his wife won't let him go when he asks for an annulment. Sarah gets into a few vampire battles and kills a few vampire hunters. An old acquaintance from high school returns and lays a deeper curse on her, turing Sarah into an evil vampire if she doesn't have the proper protection. Now the leader of the vampire hunters, disfigured in a fire, wants her to turn him into a vampire. Gideon figures both the disfigurment and the pain will go away as a vampire. But he wants Sarah to do it in a specially time ceremony. Her threatens to kill her family if she doesn;t help him. She also is supposed to leave Thierry. Between Gideon's threats and her dark side, Sarah is in a bad place. She needs to get rid of her curse, get rid of Gideon, get Thierry back, and find a job to pay the rent. She'd like to go back to being a regular, friendly vampire. Figuring out how to do that is the problem. Michelle Rowen ties up her Immortality Bites series with Tall, Dark, and Fangsome. Like the earlier novels I've read in the series, this is fluff with a slight edge. You have to wonder how Sarah is going to get all the threads of her life untangled. She is governed by powers outside of herself. She is cute (first person narrative) and bewildered. There is enough action and romance to keep the reader of this genre happy. The prose is quick and holds the reader's interest. It's not deep reading, but Tall, Dark, and Fangsome is an enjoyable way to spend that afternoon on the beach (or a plane ride, which is where I finished it.)
