Spring FancyLaVyrle Spencer
This review is by Sasha This is a book that I stumbled upon.. looked at the cover & title.. read the synopsis and realized that I had fallen in love with it at first sight. The title is just any ordinary title.. Spring Fancy, yet it caught my eye. It has no special front cover, just wedding stuff. It was the words on the back that made me have the desire to read the book. Winnifred Gardner and Joseph Duggan meet at a resplendent spring wedding between Winn's close elementary school friend, Sandy, and Joseph's best pal, Mick. Winn is the maid of honor whereas Joseph is the groomsman. Although they are close friends of the couple, they have never met until they are paired together in this wedding. They have to walk down the aisle together before the real couple did so. They both have eyes for each other. But Winn is always conscious of the diamond engagement ring she was wearing on her left hand, whenever she caught Joseph staring intently at her with his deep brown eyes. She is engaged to Paul Hildebrandt, a guy her mother loves and who is more interested in computers than spending time with Winn. It is only three months away to her own wedding. But, during the eight weeks (two months) after she meets Joseph, life thoroughly changes for them. Most of the times one will miss the other when they are not together. They love the same things, playing racquetball, jogging etc. Paul doesn't do these things with her and spends most of his time with Rita, his personal computer. Joseph and Winn work with bodies. She works with human bodies as a physical therapist in a hospital. He works with old car bodies passed on from his grandparents. Each time she is down, Paul couldn't care less and complains about her bringing her work home. What she really needs is Joseph to be by her side comforting her. She loves that. Joseph, although he knows she has a fiancé, shows all ways that he loves her. They kissed twice on the second day they met and he never does without that whenever they are together. Soon, he was the first man she truly makes love to as she feels comfortable doing it with him. Finally, Winn has to decide whether to do the hard thing of breaking the news to her mother and Paul. First impressions?.. Do they or don't they count?.. When Winn first met Joseph, she thought of him just as a flirt...an excellent flirt and one who could never be committed to a lady for long. She was wrong. When Joseph first met Winn, he felt that she was the one immediately. It wasn't easy to find someone like Winn. She was the one he had been waiting for. But she had someone else. It's hard, isn't it, to be in love with someone and yet engaged to someone else. It's hard too being in love with someone committed to another and yet you cannot help the one you love get out of the commitment, watching her in misery. This story is actually more than this.. a full 246 pages that should never be wasted. You have to read this by yourself. Highly romantic, lovely, a bit sad too in some parts. (I didn't tell you everything that was happening). There's more to this in the book. Do go and read the book. As this book's rather old; maybe the libraries would have copies. Read this book. I love it. This is the first book I read and put my heart, soul and mind into after my exams. You can find more reviews for this book at Notice: Sexual situations |
