Evening Starr sits across the poker table from the man who killed her guardians, a friend of his, and a stranger. She wants revenge. She wants the map back that the man stole. But if she wins, it will look like she cheated. She wagers herself. She deals the cards so the stranger wins. In the following fracas, she takes the money and the map and runs. Matt "Reno" Moran is able to handle the two outlaws from the poker game. Now he is out to catch Miss Starr, get his money back, and claim his winnings from her. This is an average, fun romance novel predictable from beginning to end, especially if you have read the first two novels in the series. Eve is a stronger character than Reno realizes. He sees her as a "saloon" girl who set him up to kill a man. She admits she set him up, but claims she's not the woman he thinks she is. Predictable or not, Lowell makes the story fun and believable. She also gives the reader a good portrait of the Old West in the late 1860s. Only You is a bodice ripper romance, and very satisfying in that goal. Notice: Explicit sexual content |
