Tish Gallagher is broke - her credit cards are maxed out and cut up (in a publicly humiliating scene). She's living on Ramen. Her car has been repossessed. She just needs to get her business of videography really going. Her friend Delaney has given her a "magic" wedding veil. Although Tish doubts the magic, she takes a chance. She wishes for the job that will make her famous and get her back on her feet. The veil provides in an unexpected way. She is contacted by the President's daughter, Elysee Benedict, to handle her wedding. The job of a lifetime has a major snag - the groom is Tish's ex-husband. Now Tish and Shane have to be close again. Tish knows she is still sexually attracted to him but takes the job. Elysee admits she hired Tish knowing she is Shane's ex. Elysee figures it is time they shake out the baggage between them so she knows Shane is committed to her for the future. Tish needs everything that goes with the job - the money, the fame, and the recognition of her skill and creativity. But did the groom have to be the man she still loves but can't count on? Once Smitten, Twice Shy is romantic fluff. Lori Wilde has an endearing tale here in the second of her Wedding Veil Wishes series. It's predictable, although I didn't guess who the dangerous antagonist was until Wilde revealed the culprit. She laid a red herring or two that helped keep the person hidden. Tish and Shane's history that led to their divorce is often hazy and not well explained until they come together again at the end. If you want a light, distracting, feel-good read, Once Smitten, Twice Shy will fit right in with your mood. Notice: Explicit sexual content Publicist provided for review |
