NotoriousJanet Dailey
Kincade's pickup truck broke down in Friendly, Nevada. While waiting for it to be fixed, he rescues a woman from being mowed down by a herd of cows. In so doing, he makes an enemy of the local "boss", Duke Depard. Eden Rossiter had killed Depard's brother many years before. She claimed his brother had tried to rape her and it was self defense. He was sure it was murder. The jury did not convict Eden at the trial. Now Depard is trying to ruin Eden and her ranch. Kincade immediately felt the injustice of what was happening and went to work for Eden at her ranch. As well as a few ranch hands and a cook, Eden and her gambling brother Vince live at the ranch. Eden runs the ranch, Vince helps out when he is back on it. This is an intricate story that holds the reader's attention. There are many unexpected turns. What was Kincade before he was a ranch hand? Why did Vince feel Kincade looked familiar? How far will Depard go to destroy Eden's ranch? Notice: Sexual situations (non-explicit) |
