Caren Ainsley is a secretary for Rayven Cosmetics. She finds herself in a top level meeting taking minutes when the others are out to lunch. The owner of the company, Marc Rayven, looks at her and chooses her for the model of their newest perfume, Nightstar. She is whirled from her quiet life into the whirlwind of publicity and modeling. It really is a shame that Marc Rayven is attached to his assistant, Moira Evans. This was originally a series romance (Harlequins and Silhouettes, etc). It is extremely predictable. Caren is almost believable, but none of the rest of the characters are. If you're looking for something to read while waiting somewhere, this might fill your time. Do not expect great literature or even something like the more mature Ferm Michaels' novels. |
