Alexandra Lyons is a young, aspiring fashion artist. She tries to sell her designs to a prominent designer in Paris. She joins Debord's house. Her dreams fall short there. She travels to California. There, her flair helps a new television series become a hit.

The Lord family own a chain of upscale department stores. Eleanor Lord and her manager, Zachary Deveraux, carry on the supremecy she established with her husband. Zachary is attracted to and marries Eleanor's niece, Miranda. As important as the business is to Eleanor, so is the hunt for her kidnapped granddaughter.

Alexandra, Eleanor, Zachary, and Miranda become entwined together. The search for the missing granddaughter is a threat to one person. Alexandra's designs could mean a breakthrough for Lords. Zachary finds himself caught between three strong willed women.

This is a voyage of self discovery for Alexandra. While predictable, JoAnna Ross keeps the reader hooked throughout this novel. The sex scenes are fairly explicit, but the rest of the story is gloss.
