Marlie Keen is psychic. After a traumatic episode when she was nearly killed, her abilities had been suppressed. Now they are returning. And she keeps experiencing the emotions and rage of a serial killer as he is toying with, then murdering his victims. She is shaken by her vision, upset that her abilities have returned, and unwilling to report what she has "seen." Finally, though, she has to go the police. This was too important for her to ignore. Dane Hollister is the rough and ready police detective that does not believe her claim. She had to have been at the murder scene to recall the details so vividly. She was his first solid suspect. There was no way she, or anyone, could be a true psychic. Dane finally begins to believe Marlie. Once he suspends his belief that she is involved with the murders he gives in to his attraction to her. Marlie has held people aloof all her life. Because of her abilities people have always broken into her mind. The only way to prevent that was be a loner. This is an excellent story. Marlie has constant mental battles with herself, with Dane, and the serial killer. She wants the murdered caught. But can she trust Dane to keep her safe? While it is predictable, it is very well written. Notice: Explicit sexual content |
