Dawn in Eclipse Bay

Romance 8/12/2005< Rating: 4 Scrolls

It is time to close her computer match making business and take her art seriously. But Lillian Harte has one problem client. Gabe Madison has not clicked on any of the five dates he has taken. She knows he wouldn't work with any of her now ex-clients. But their original contract was for six dates. He insists her company still owes him a date. She says she is out of business and moves back to Eclipse Bay.

There is also the family problem - she is a Harte and he is a Madison. Their grandfathers had a falling out years ago and the families have been like the Montagues and Capulets since. Well, until the past year when her sister married Gabe's brother. It looks like the grandfathers may finally be mending their relationship as well. But the friction is still there - Gabe is still a Madison. Madisons follow their passion. Gabe's happens to be the business he built up to replace his grandfather's lost fortune. He is now one of the most important CEO's in the northwest.

Gabe follows Lillian to Eclipse Bay. He is insisting she still owes him that sixth date. And she is not allowed to offer herself as the sixth woman. Lillian believes Gabe has burn out, which is why he is "taking a month off" in their small Oregon town. Gabe is following some elusive feelings about Lillian. He can run his business from anywhere.

This is pure romance. OK, well, there is a small mystery, but nothing much and nothing too dangerous by the time the novel ends. It's quite predictable, but it's still fun. By the end of the novel, Gabe doesn't seem to mind that he never got his sixth date. And another forge is finally made between the Madisons and Hartes.
