Maggie is an Irish artist in glass. She built her own kiln, makes her own glass, and blows, colors, and shapes it however she is moved. Rogan is the art gallery/business owner who is entranced with her work first, then with her. >Maggie's mother resented her for ruining her life. She never let Maggie forget that Maggie was the cause. Because of this Maggie doesn't trust other people except her sister Briana. She is very much a loner. As Rogan tries to approach her even about her work, she is distant with him. Of course Rogan is frustrated with her as well. The qualities that make her an outstanding artist make her a poor business woman. It drives him crazy that she will not answer her telephone. He provides her with an answering machine so she can get back to him, but she ignores that as well. As usual, Ms. Roberts spins a good yarn. This takes place in modern Ireland. You can almost feel the countryside as you read the book. It is the beginning of a trilogy, with Brianna being featured in Born in Ice and their friend Murphy being featured in Born in Shame. Notice: Strong sexual content |
