Jeremy Bridges was a frustrating boss and finally Bernadette Hogan quits, glad she'll never have to see him again. Then she learns she is pregnant - with his baby... Bernadette is less than happy to discover she is pregnant. One night - one indiscretion... She shouldn't be pregnant. They took precautions. But here she is. She is a bodyguard, ex-military, and as tough as they come. Her mother Eleanor keeps hoping Bernadette will develop some female tendencies - even if its only to allow herself to be helped a bit and perhaps be frilly at times. Eleanor is excited when she learns she's finally going to be a grandmother. Reluctantly, Bernadette knows she has to tell Jeremy about the baby. But she certainly doesn't expect his reaction. He's pleased about this baby. She wanted to free him from all obligations. Instead, he takes them on. Her life has been getting complicated before this. Now with a baby on the way and Jeremy insisting on being involved, the complications increase. Her life was sane and under control. What happened to her? Black Ties and Lullabies is a fun, witty novel to please any romantic. It's cute and kicky, entertaining and sexy. Jane Graves writes light romances that are pure enchantment. Here she uses a man who has everything and anyone he wants. Then a woman who is off his normal radar comes into it. He realizes she is more than he would have guessed. An added extra in this is Eleanor, Bernadette's mother. She keeps hoping a bit of female will show up in the grown up tomboy. She's a wonderful side character that adds to the story. Don't expect great literature from Jane Graves' Black Ties and Lullabies. Do expect to have the warm fuzzies. Kick back, relax, and enjoy yourself. Notice: Strong sexual content |
