The Vegetarian TeenDr. Charles A. Salter
I had to read this book. One of my daughters decided it was time to become a vegetarian. She had her ethical reasons, and I could not argue with her. This is a short, easy read. It is directed to teen readers, but all can learn from it. It helps describe the different types of vegetarianism and the impacts of each type. The different nutritional implications are discussed. The book also gives guidance on how to switch to a vegetarian diet. If you love your meat, it helps you change diets without traumatizing yourself. It also gives the teen ways to cope with being a vegetarian in a omivore world. This is a great book to read if you are deciding to change to a vegetarian lifestyle. Although directed toward the teen, anyone can use the guidelines in this text to change their dietary lifestyle. P.S. After three weeks of picnics with hamburgers and grilled chicken, she changed her mind, but still takes it into consideration. |
