Housekeeping - the bane of everyone who lives in a residence. Over the years most of us learn hints to help. Some of us still don't learn the trick. This book can help. Schofield has overcome many of the housekeeping problems herself, and still succumbs to them at times. This book has different organizing hints - partitioning drawers for easy access, storing frequently used items together or where they are easily accessed. She reminds the reader that it can't all be cleaned up at once. Not only does she offer overall home organization tips, but also individual cleaning tips. My favorite is using a toilet bowl brush around the corners of the wall to clean up the dirt and animal hair that accumulates at the edge of the carpet where the vacuum can't reach. If you came to this review for help in keeping your home and clutter free, I also suggest visiting the Flylady. This Web site is a place to slowly get your home and life back under control and clutter free. She advocates baby steps in cleaning and learning to appreciate yourself. It's a comfortable site where you won't be chastised for failing. Flylady has been there, too, like Schofield, and can give assistance. I basically skimmed this book, looking for hints as much as anything. It has a lot of good ideas for organization and getting your house under control. It helps as a "how to" tool. |
