Goldy Schulz' catering company is temporarily closed. The food inspector shut down her kitchen until the plumbing is corrected to specifications. So she has taken on other work until her workplace is once more up to code. She has offered her services as a personal chef for people. She also is starring in a short-term PBS television series featuring her cooking. The television program is filmed at the top of one of the nearby Colorado mountains at a toney ski resort. Money is tight in the Schulz household, especially with the catering business on hold. So they decide to sell a historic pair of skis. The buyer, though, is one of the men Goldy had dated after her divorce before she met Tom. So she doesn't mention to Tom that she is meeting this man on the mountain to sell the skis. There's a problem, though. Goldy and Doug Portman skiied off together from the top after her show filmed by the day. But he didn't make it to the bottom. Instead he is found dead part way down the mountain. Now Goldy and Tom Shulz have to discover what really happened on the mountain side, both that day and three years earlier when two other people died. They have to find the funds to repair the plumbing. And they have to keep Arch safe and enjoy the upcoming Christmas. Once again Davidson has brought an enjoyable cozy mystery with delicious recipes in between the pages. The mystery has its twists, but the story in this book is more Goldy and her family. It's light; it's fun. |
