Archer Donovan gets a plea for help from his sister-in-law, Hannah McGarry. Archer's half-brother, Len, was a bitter, hard man who farmed pearls at Pearl Cove in Australia. When Len dies in a cyclone, Hannah knows her husband was murdered. She contacts Archer, the silent partner, to come to Pearl Cove.

Archer has only met Hannah twice, but that is enough for her to make a strong impression. He stayed from his half-brother and wife at Len's request. Now, though, he cannot refuse Hannah. He leaves Seattle and is on the west coast of Australia in Pearl Cove within 24 hours.

The rafts broke loose. The storage barn is a shambles after the storm blew through. The pearls that had been farmed all disappeared in the storm. The McGarrys had some of the finest black pearls produced. Now they are all gone, including the special black rainbow pearls that are extremely rare and beautiful. Archer and Hannah find themselves escaping from Pearl Cove and travelling through Asia and back to Seattle searching for the missing rainbows, staying alive, and falling in lust - or is it love?

Pearl Cove is part of the Donovan family saga. Archer is the oldest brother who had been involved in covert operations before giving up the job and joining the family business. This series follows not only the Donovan family but also focuses on precious minerals. This book not only has the love story and fast paced suspense story, but gives a basic education in the pearl production, trade, and power struggle. Be ready for a fast ride in this novel.
