Mystery and Suspense11/24/2003 Rating: 3 1/2 Scrolls

Betsy Devonshire has taken over her sister's store in Minnesota. She had fled from San Diego and a nasty divorce to her sister's home. Shortly she arrived, her sister was murdered. Betsy had kept digging and discovered the murderer. She still doesn't have her sister Margo, though.

The store, Crewel World, is a needlecraft shop. Betsy knew nothing about knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, counted cross stitch, or any other of the fabric arts before she moved to Minnesota. Now she is learning. One group that is very supportive is the Monday Bunch, a revolving group of women who gather every Monday afternoon to stitch and talk.

Betsy was with one of her friends when an old ship was raised out of the water. A 50-year-old skeleton was found buried under the debris used to sink the ship. Since she had solved the mystery of her sister's death, many people in the small town expected her to be interested and try to solve this old murder as well. She intends to leave it alone. But...some lace found with the body implicates one of the women in the Monday Bunch. Betsy finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation.

This is a cozy, light mystery. The clues are easily available and even I was able to solve the murder without too much trouble. This is never an edge-of-the seat type mystery, but instead an enjoyable few hours with a group of people who could be my friends. It's comfortable.
