Good Bye, Nick

    Oh no! What happened?

  2. Comment by Aravis:

Oh Jandy, I’m so very, very sorry!

  3. Comment by Jandy:

He was 13-years-old and had hyperthyroidism. He’s been an “old man” for over six months – grooming himself less and less, leaving messes on the floor rather than in the litter box, etc. Despite the medication, he kept getting worse. The past few weeks he was eating constantly but getting thinner. Saturday morning it was obvious he was at the end. He spasmed a couple times earlier, but then quieted down. An hour or so later he died in my arms before I his vet appointment. He was a rescue we’d had since he was one. He loved my lap while reading or sleeping against my back at night.

Wow. My mother’s cat has been in the same condition, and now has developed a congestive heart. She’s letting my brother and sister say good-bye, and then they’re going to take him to the vet.

    It’s all so terribly sad.
