The Theory of Cat Gravity

Robin Wood

5/27/2001

"Cats, as everyone knows, sit in the Window Ledges, where, as everyone knows, they collect Solar Rays. What everyone does not know is that they transform the Solar Rays directly into Gravity." As they collect that gravity in themselves, they learn to transfer it.

Have you ever noticed that once a cat settles in your lap it is extremely difficult to get up if that cat is peacefully settled in? I have! And so has Ms. Wood, the author. She has a complete theory on how they make Gravity (transforming Solar Rays), pass it to Humans, Dining Room Tables, and even Basements. There is also a Dog Corollary that goes along with this theory.

This is one of those small, read in 10 to 15 minutes, books of humor. The inks drawings that match so well are by Diana Harlan Stein. Any cat owner will immediately identify and start chuckling. It was amazing how often I shook my head in agreement. I can blame my cats for the state of my basement!

If you see this, pick it up. It's cute and fits our reaction to cats. I always have trouble once one of mine have setteld into my lap. Now I know it is because of Cat Gravity.

This book is featured at the author's home site along with Ms. Wood's fantasy art and other work.
